Ran turned into an 'eek! save me!' girl once more when the lights went out. what happened to ass-kickin karate girl hmm? also, what happened to Ran's 'mother-hen/big sister' instinct concerning Conan? shouldn't she be worried about her 'son/little brother' while the lights were out?

Gah, they did! I can get her acting more like that when supernatural and ghost type stuff is involved cuz that's an irrational fear, but the lights just when out!! Like, a girl who could knock out a guy with one punch shouldn't be this afraid of the lights going out!

Well, He is a Doctor (05:56) and a Head Graduate at Touto University (7:36) his age is 25 and ready for marriage life. we can't blame why kogoro wants him to be ran's husband because of his Good Husband Qualification. also when girls reach 18 years old, they can get married right away because they're not the one who will work for the family or who will be the one to provide financially but the husband will do (I know some people here in my place do that exactly at 18) also and in my opinion it's not a gross thing if age gap is the topic. my father and my mother their age gap is 7 years (father is older) as long as the male is older it's seems okay but if the female is older that's kind of bleeh in my opinion. araide is a good rival for shinichi in terms of husband qualification but we know that Ran and Shinichi will be together in the end because they're the mc and heroine.

Yeah I'm definitely not denying Araide's husband qualification, he would be a great husband that any girl would want. And yeah age gaps aren't inherently bad of course, but the younger the people are the worse it gets. I think the gap from 17 to 25 is too much and, well, gross. One is basically a fully fledged adult and the other is still a teenager. Of course if they were a lot older (like 28 and 36 or something like that) then that would be perfectly fine. Like the issue to me is that it's being considered now (and also I guess cuz Ran and Araide don't know each other too well and going straight to marriage would be skipping a lot of steps). And yeah it would technically be fine if they waited a year until Ran's 18 to get married (which still is weird to me, I couldn't really imagine getting married at such a young age even though it's allowed and kind of normal, but that's just a me thing considering it happens relatively often). Hypothetically, (I know he's not like this but) if Araide wanted to be with Ran and was waiting for her to turn 18, I would find that icky and predatory. In my opinion, if Shinichi and Ran were older and more closer to Araide's age, then Araide would be actual competition. I also just don't like teacher student relationships but this is all just my opinion (lol sorry this was so long)

now as to The Kaitou Kid... i think it's just Ran fan-girling a tiny bit to humor her bestie Sonoko. so in my opinion putting 'the Kid' up there with this doctor and Shinichi is kinda like, comparing a girl's crush on some 'boy band' member to a normal guy she'd actually have a chance dating.

LIES. It may have been a century since I watched that but I'm positive that Ran rejects his proposal in favour of waiting for Shinichi, who never came back because he never found an antidote. All grown up and looking like himself again, but with glasses, he tries to confess to Ran that he is shinichi, and she doesn't believe him! But still chooses to wait. It's called stranger in 10 years and it's one of the most memorable things I watched. Really wish she'd get with the doctor tho.. ShinRan is such old news!
